DAILY SCHEDULE
Every day is different, but please enjoy looking over our schedule below to get a general idea of all the fun and learning that happens each preschool day. You can also visit our “Day in the Life of a Sunshine Preschooler.”
- 15 min. – Welcome, Table Time
We are so excited for everyone to arrive! We get right to working on fine motor skills with fun arts and crafts. - 15 min. – Circle Time
We gather together at the circle rug to work on our cognitive, social, language, and gross motor skills with our sharing time, calendar, weather, job helpers and music & movement. - 60 min. – Center Time
Often known as “Free Play” or “Play Time,” our many centers include Dramatic Play, Sensory, Art, Building, Literacy, Writing, and Science. We work on social, emotional, and language skills such as using our words, taking turns, being patient, negotiating conflicts, etc. In addition, our teacher brings over small groups or works 1-on-1 with building cognitive skills (colors, shapes, letters, sounds, numbers, counting, math/reading for older kids) based on each child’s level. Our summer camps feature lots of fun science experiments! - 30 min. – Recess
Our playground areas include play structures, swings, slides, sand boxes, balls, hula hoops, scooters, and more! You’ll think we’re just playing, but we’re actually working on our social, emotional, language, and gross motor skills as we run, jump, climb, swing, and create games. We also play a lot of fun water games during camp! - 15 min. – Snack Time
We love working on our cognitive, social, language, and fine motor skills as we pour, measure, sort, count, chat, and enjoy eating together. - 15 min. – Closing Circle
We head back to the circle rug to work on our cognitive skills with story time and Handwriting Without Tears curriculum, social and language skills with discussing what we’ve learned, and emotional skills with getting ready to go home.

When should I call to register my child?
It’s never too early to call, so call as soon as you even think about registering, because our classes fill up ridiculously fast!
What are the benefits of summer camp?
Our Sunshine summer camps are so fun! They give your children the ability to keep a schedule during the summer, avoid being bored, have something to look forward to, continue their learning, and have a blast with extra science experiments and water games! Plus, you’ll enjoy some time to yourself each day kid free!
Are there any field trips during summer camp?
Our summer camp will end with a bang as we celebrate Kuna Days together! On Saturday morning, we’ll all ride on our float and dance to music in the Kuna Days Parade! That evening, we’ll party with treats and a bounce house as we watch the fireworks at the park across the street!
Does my child have to be potty trained?
Yes. If you have any questions about whether or not your child is ready, feel free to give us a call. We even have a “How To Potty Train” your child handout we can give you. It’s helped many Sunshine moms quickly potty train their kids. We’re here to help!
What is your teaching philosophy?
At Sunshine we follow a “whole child” philosophy where we work with you to improve your child’s Social, Emotional, Cognitive, Language, and Physical skills. Our curriculum is based on the NAEYC guidelines and features a balance of teacher-directed and child-initiated hands-on activities to accomplish these goals. We also incorporate Creative Curriculum and Handwriting Without Tears Curriculum. Your child will learn to socialize, make friends, develop social and emotional skills, and be more than ready for Kindergarten!
Are there additional fees during the camp?
No. Your registration fee covers all your child’s supplies and reserves a spot in our program. Your child won’t pay anything to attend our events and activities. And your family can come for free too!
What if my child has food restrictions?
No worries. Several of our students have food intolerances or severe allergies. We ask these families to bring in their own snacks, and we create nut-free classrooms any time a child’s allergy is severe enough to require an epi pen.

| Once you know which class you'd prefer, please call us to see if we have a spot for you. Then we will schedule a tour and reserve your child's spot so you don't lose it before we meet. If you are moving to the area, please call us; we will mail you a registration form and reserve your child's spot. |
| During our 25-min. tour, we’ll tell you all about us and make sure we’re a good fit. At the end of the tour, we’ll ask if you’d like to your child to come to Sunshine Preschool. If so, we’ll have you fill out our registration form and collect the registration fee (cash or check please). |
